Welcome To My Table

Hi, I’m Alison, and I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m a recipe developer, wife to the most amazing husband, mom to three adult kids (MIL to two spouses), and Mimi to the most adorable grandbaby ever. I’m also a proud Californian. I am a passionate reader, a new vegetable gardener (advice requested!), curious traveler, and a huge supporter of local farmers and farming families. My kitchen is the heart of my home. This space is an extension of that—warm, welcoming, a little bit messy, and always open.

A Table Defloured is where I share the food I actually want to make for my friends and family (and eat myself). You’ll find gluten-free recipes that feel generous, beautiful, comforting, and completely doable in real life.

Around here, that might look like a puffed, golden Dutch Baby for a slow morning, a stack of Blueberry Sourdough or Buttermilk Pancakes for the people you love. Or a batch of Blueberry or Pumpkin Muffins cooling on the counter while coffee brews and life happens. It might also look like a truly celebratory Lemon Cake, Carrot Cake, or Chocolate Fudge Cake. I believe that gluten-free baking should still get to be joyful, a little dramatic, and absolutely worth gathering for.

And because no table is complete without something sweet, there will always be room here for the recipes people come back to again and again—Chocolate Chip Cookies, big Soft Sugar Cookies, and the kinds of desserts that make you text someone, “Come over, I made something good.”

But this blog is about more than gluten-free baking. It’s also about the whole table—from big Sunday dinners, to cozy evenings for two: the cocktails mixed for summer evenings, the Heirloom Tomato Salads made when the market is showing off, the Burrata and Cherry situation that feels a little fancy but not fussy, and the Spring Orzo Salad you bring to a gathering and hope there are leftovers of. It’s about seasonal food, everyday beauty, and the simple magic of feeding people well.

Everyone is welcome at my table

It’s also important to me to say this clearly: I believe deeply in the strength of community, equity, and inclusion. I believe food connects us. And I believe the table should be a place where more people feel seen, welcomed, and nourished. This space at A Table Defloured reflects that. It is rooted in care, curiosity, hospitality, and the idea that good food is for everyone.

So whether you’re here because you need a gluten-free recipe that actually works, because you love to cook with the seasons, because you’re looking for something lovely to share, or because you simply want to linger awhile, welcome. I’m really happy you found your way here.

Pull up a chair. The table’s set. Or we could just hang out on the lawn with a bowl of homemade ice cream
